Squinting my eyes at the morning sun, I unfold my fatigued bones out of my friend's apartment, still dizzy from partying last night. I throw on my clearance ailse clothes and walk down Moore St, the morning mist curtaining my silhouette. After around ten minutes, my nostrils are hit with the most delectable scents so I follow its origin, to be met with this fine establishment. They welcome your tired body and soul with a warm cup of coffee (or, their morning cocktails, if you'd prefer that), and filling meals which you would walk away with no regrets. I visit here every time I'm around, since Moore Street Cafe changed my life.
This place is AMAZING!!! The service is so home like and it’s such a comfortable/safe vibe ( as someone with extreme social anxiety). Nick was a great host, it felt like talking to a old friend. We also met the owner charlie who is just the sweetest man as well. Highly recommend this spot, food is a 10/10 and home cooked. Corny to say but kind of feels like home. Shoutout to our waitress victoria she was also very helpful! Excellent customer service!!
Me and my friends came in today for brunch for our first time, Nick greeted us at the door and was extremely kind. This is a very busy spot so we were added to the waitlist and he directed us to the bar to get some drinks while we wait, the bartender Megan is a doll. She is extremely sweet and we loved her energy. After we were seated, by our waiter Victoria she was very helpful and our food came out really fast and it was delicious. If you’re looking for a place that gives that “home cooked meal” vibe this is it. We even got to meet the owner, Charlie and he was extremely kind as well. Everyone here is so friendly, welcoming and the food is 10/10. I highly reccomend!
This place is a whole entire vibe. Whether it's brunch with the girls or a quick breakfast with family, we have always had a wonderful experience here. Because of the quality of the experience, there may be a wait. If we don't have time, we grab it to go. No biggie. Either way, this is definitely a staple of downtown Richmond that everyone has to experience at least once.
We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning in the summer and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! The restaurant had a 35 minute wait but had a back waiting area with seating where we could get mimosas or walk around the little shops. It was a great way to kill time by shopping from local merchants and artists! The food and service were exceptional and I loved the funky atmosphere, it was perfect for a casual breakfast and was also surprisingly affordable. They definitely encouraged me for a return visit!!
This is everything you'd want in a diner. Friendly staff, fast service, amazing food. The place is eclectic, buzzing, but still felt private enough to have a conversation. The pancakes were so good and I also thought the has browns were particularly good!
While on the road as a traveling photographer, I found this hidden gem. What a treat this is for real! Hometown feel all the way. Arrive early or you'll have to wait. Parking can be a Bear! I just loved everything about this establishment! The food, the service, the ambiance, hands down! Get a seat at the bar if ya can, so you can watch the Master Chefs at their best, The speed of turning out the food is entertaining to say the least. Original is an understatement!! Whenever in this area, will definitely return! Thanks for the experience! ;-)
We went here twice during our spring break stay in RVA. The pancakes are the best I ever had. I do not say that lightly. So perfect - crispy outsides, fluffy insides, lightly salty sweet. Yum. Great service and vibes. Drinks check. Also drinks and a nice waiting room so the wait goes by fast!
Holy moly this place is so so so amazing!! I went there before I headed back to Virginia Beach and I'm already planning on making a day trip just to go there. The squirrels nest bowl was so good. My server Milla/Mila couldn't have been sweeter, give that girl a raise already!! Thank you for such a wonderful experience that didn't break the bank!
Sometimes the best things are hidden and Moore Street Cafe is a perfect example of that. Located on a quiet section of Moore Street in Scott's Addition behind a facade that does not stand out is one of the best breakfasts you will ever have. I have been here several times now and I can't wait to go back. The set up is fun and campy while the food and service are excellent. They claim on their website that they have the best 🥞 in the city and I have to say, that is probably true because they are very good. Most certainly worth a visit, just be prepared to wait if it is on a weekend.
